I hope your summer has been relaxed and enjoyable. The
start-up to fall activities is just around the corner.
The Self-Study Committee has been busy working on the
details and questions we need to create a Profile to search
for our next Rector. This process is designed to include
everyone participating in answering questions and being part
of congregational meetings. I cannot stress enough how
important it is for us to hear from you as we develop the
profile.
Each week we have had a Question of the Week for
you to think about and respond. Knowing that many of you
have been away, we will have copies of all the questions for
you to answer. Mark September 19th on your calendar
when the Self-Study Committee will host a coffee hour to
hear your stories of St. David’s, and give you the opportunity
to express your wishes for our future path.
This may seem a little early to talk about Stewardship, but it
is something that is on the minds of vestry members. When
the Finance Committee meets to begin to develop the 2011
budget, they will have to include an amount to fund the
search process, and the eventual move of our new Rector; so
I ask you to keep that in mind as we begin that process.
Finally, I ask your prayers for St. David’s, for Pastor Beth, for
the Self-Study Committee, and for the next Rector of St.
David’s.
God’s Peace,
Sue Hurn, 946-6583
