Sunday School

Our Sunday school meets at 9:45am on Sunday mornings, in the upper hall.  We begin with a bible story reading from a parishioner. After the reading has concluded the students are then split into three different classes by grade level.

The classes are taught in our newly redecorated classrooms; we have painted a mural of Noah’s Ark in one of the classes and a mural of Moses parting the Red Sea in the other.   Ann Pellegrino and Candy Collins teach the Pre-K through 2nd grade, Jen Pate teaches grades 3rd through 5th, and Michael Sheldon and Sara Clarke teach grades 6th and up.  After their lessons the students then head into church during the break at the Peace and Announcements, so that they can share eucharist with their families.

In addition to our printed curriculum, we teach using a variety of hands-on activities.  The children have taken part in the worship by leading roles on Youth Sundays and designed banners and other art projects.  We have had terrific participation in many activities that the youth either planned and implemented, or helped with, such as our annual Chili-Making and sale, the Easter egg hunt, food drives, the Talent Show, the end of school year picnic, holiday gift outreach and the Epiphany Pageant.  Our youth have also volunteered time at the Bazaar, Christmas Caroling and other church events and fundraisers.
